MICE & Corporate Travel Events Primed To Open In China Issue No 2 March 2007 Headlines Headlines I T&CM China 2007 and CT&TW China 2007 are all set to make their first foray into China when they open on 23 April 2007. China Land Of The Dragon is not just the world s most populous country it is also the third largest business travel market in the world after the US and Japan and a country very keen to develop its MICE industry. In Chinese culture the legendary dragon is an auspicious symbol of good fortune and success. Many see IT&CM China 2007 as a golden gateway to cultivate China s buoyant MICE industry. Similarly they are a great opportunity for China suppliers to reach local and international MICE buyers. The IT&CM China press conference will be held on 23 April (Monday) from 1030 to 1130 hrs at INTEX Shanghai while the CT&TW China press conference is scheduled on 24 April (Tuesday) from 1200 to 1400 hrs at Millennium Hongqiao Hotel Shanghai. A special lunch will be hosted by HRG (Hogg Robinson Group) for media delegates after the CT&TW China press conference at the hotel s East-meets-West TKNY Grill & Bar. SMB and BMS sessions to kick off business meetings IT&CM China Buyers and sellers will have two opportunities to fill up the balance of appointments not matched during the PSA (PreScheduled Appointments) online exercise. Before buyers and sellers arrive in Shanghai they would have received their computer-matched appointments which make up a certain percentage of their total appointment slots. An onsite briefing for all buyers and sellers will be held on 23 April (Monday) from 1430 to 1500 hrs at Sheraton Grand Shanghai Tai Ping Yang. This will be followed by the SellersMeet-Buyers (SMB) Appointments session from 1530 to 1630 hrs. The Buyers-Meet-Sellers (BMS) Appointments session will be scheduled on the following day 24 April (Tuesday) from 0930 to 1000 hrs at INTEX Shanghai. For the SMB session buyers will be seated in a hall waiting for sellers to approach them to make appointments. For the BMS session buyers will visit the sellers at their booths to make appointments. Both buyers and sellers will start their business meetings right after the BMS session. The PSA exercise and SMB and BMS sessions are important opportunities for buyers and sellers to find their matches as efficiently as possible. Who s Exhibiting Corporate Travel Conference To Open Concurrently About 300 delegates from China the US and Asia-Pacific are expected to attend China s first Corporate Travel & Technology World (CT&TW) event in Shanghai this April. Scheduled on the same dates as IT&CM China (23 to 25 April 2007) CT&TW China will be held at Millennium Hongqiao Hotel Shanghai which opened in September last year. An international line-up of 20 speakers comprising industry experts consultants and practitioners will deliver presentations and debate pertinent topics relevant to business travel in China. There will be simultaneous interpretation in English and Chinese during the educational sessions. The conference will also feature a showcase of business travel and technology suppliers in a concurrent exhibition.
